Remember first impressions count; this begins at the application stage. Below are some tips to create a great CV:
- Ensure your CV is current, concise and clear.
- Tailor your CV to highlight your skills and experience that are relevant to the role you are applying for.
- Ensure you spell-check your CV and make sure your CV is well structured.
- Attach your updated CV to the application – if you don’t, then we won’t be able to progress your application.
Interview preparation
Well done, you’ve been successful and got to the interview stage.
Interviews are about both you and us, finding out about each other and discussing the vacancy in more detail. You may be nervous but the best way to eliminate nerves is good interview preparation.
Remember, this is your chance to show us how good you are. Here are some tips to prepare for your interview:
- Research our business and the role you are applying for.
- Prepare questions to ask at your interview to check whether the role is right for you.
- Make sure you know the location and arrangements for your interview so you will feel relaxed about getting to us on the day.
- Think in advance about the types of questions we may ask you.
- Listen to the questions you are asked and think before answering, if you’re not clear about the question, just ask for it to be repeated or clarified.
- Talk confidently about your skills and experience.
- Engage with the interviewer(s).
- Be yourself!
