
M&S project marks first contract since formation of BBES
Wates Retail has awarded a contract to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) to provide electrical services for a Marks and Spencer store at Union Square in Aberdeen; the first contract awarded to the newly formed BBES.
Kevin Sheridan will manage the contract which includes installation of CCTV, intruder and fire alarms and mains lighting over two-storey’s. Work on the 14-week project starts in August.
Union Square is Aberdeen’s new £250 million retail-led regeneration project. It includes a covered mall with a retail park and will offer shopping, dining and leisure facilities. The shopping centre is expected to be open to the public in November 2009.
Balfour Beatty Engineering Services has completed well over 100 contracts for Marks and Spencer, either directly or through contractors and specialist shopfitters.
