The Birmingham New Hospital Joint Venture (BNHJV) team has been awarded the “Little Green Apple” trophy for environmental best practice at a ceremony held at the House of Commons.

The BNHJV team has been awarded the “Little Green Apple” trophy for its efforts in environmental initiatives and its sustainable construction approach and techniques which included:

           Modularisation

           Waste management

Closed loop recycling of tiles and vinyl

           Recycling figures achieved on site.

The coveted international award was presented to Jim Duffy, head of quality and environmental systems for the JV, at a ceremony on 17 November 2009 which was held at the House of Commons.

This is another fantastic achievement and completes a hat-trick of environmental awards for the BNHJV project in the last year. It reflects the efforts of everyone involved in the project and we should all be proud of the achievement!
