Projects division has been selected to install electrical works associated with the Power Low Voltage and Lighting Package on the New Tyne Crossing project.

The New Tyne Crossing Project comprises the design, build and operation of a new two lane tunnel beneath the River Tyne, before a full upgrade of the existing tunnel is completed. Works are being managed by main contractor, Bouygues Travaux Publics.

The Balfour Beatty Engineering Services project scope involves installing low voltage electrical services to the new tunnel and associated substation building.

Day-to-day operations will be managed by senior project manager Colin Ayre.

Work on the £3.2M project will start on site in April 2010 and will be completed by September 2010.
