Two building services engineering students based at Glasgow head office have recently won top awards for the progress they have made during their studies.
Stuart Hunter, who is currently in his honours year, was presented with the Tony Barton Award for the best student on the foundation degree course. The judges were impressed with his dedication and attitute towards his studies and he was the only student who passed his exams with distinction.
The award is in memory of Tony Barton who worked for the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and helped to devise the format and structure of the programme during its development.
Gordon Munro, who is currently in his second year, won an award for outstanding results in the first year of his BTEC National Certificate in Building Services Engineering course.
Human resources director Gordon Rae said: “Congratulations to both Stuart and Gordon. They are highly talented students and show the caliber of engineer we are developing. I wish them both every success with their studies for the future.”
