Power Systems’ Traction unit has recently been awarded a contract by Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering for a new London Underground transformer room at Blackfriars station.

Working in partnership with the Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) project team at Blackfriars station, Power Systems’ Traction unit will be carrying out the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the new transformer room onto the London Underground power supply network.

The manufacture of the HV and LV switchboards will be carried out in-house at our manufacturing facility in Huntly Road.

The project will be led by project manager Simon Jays with design support from Huntly Road. Design works are currently underway and the project is scheduled for completion in July 2011.
