Blackfriars ‘Beyond Compliance’

Blackfriars ‘Beyond Compliance’ Further recognition of the Blackfriar’s responsible approach to construction came last week, when the project received this certificate from the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The significant words are ’beyond compliance’, which means that in the eyes of their independent observers, the Blackfriars team, which includes BBES, is not merely doing all that is expected of a competent contractor but performing significantly beyond expectations.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme, in its own words, monitors sites for neighbourliness, cleanliness and environmental care to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. It owes no favour to members, who cannot influence the monitors to obtain a good report. Only actual performance counts.

Maintaining such a high standard is a challenge in itself but that would be too simple for Blackfriars.

Next year the CCS inspectors will be expecting us to exceed our current performance and if we manage this, we stand a good chance of winning a national award.

Congratulations to Stuart Campbell and the team on this latest recognition of the excellent work being carried out at the Blackfriars project.

Gary Heffernan, operations director adds: “This award demonstrates that the Blackfriars project is leading the way in our approach to sustainable construction. Our engagement with the wider community and ensuring we protect the environment around our site is essential to the successful delivery of this project.”
