Around 80 customers and employees attended the official opening day of Modular Systems + on 17 May 2011.
The launch event was held at Modular Systems + flagship 117,000 sq ft manufacturing and assembly facility in Wednesbury, West Midlands.
Customers from across the UK came to see how Balfour Beatty Engineering Services’ (BBES) is changing its approach to service delivery, through utilising the innovation and best practice solutions that Modular Systems + can provide.
Managing director John Moore formally welcomed guests on the day with a presentation, followed by ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the event (pictured right, with divisional managing director, Alex Currie).
Customers were then shown around the manufacturing and assembly facility, and had the opportunity to find out more, through case study presentations on Advances in Plant Rooms (Airbus), Featherstone Riser/ Design (delivered by Andy O’Connor) and Modular Electrical Systems (delivered by Mohammad Al-Jibouri).
Bob Francis, director Modular Systems + says, “The day was an opportunity for current and potential customers to see first-hand the Modular Systems + approach towards a safer and more sustainable industry. Our customers welcomed the opportunity to discuss how this would work for their projects, whilst having the opportunity to view some of the installations underway in the factory.”
BBES’ Modular Systems + facility is the largest of its kind in the UK, focused on the production of mechanical and electrical systems, including packaged plant rooms, corridor modules, service modules, riser modules, and modular electrical systems.
Presentations and case studies have been added to the intranet our Business/ Modular Systems + page. For further information, Bob Francis can be contacted on +44 (0)121 568 2774.
