BBES’ London and South East Region has secured two contracts with a combined value of £10.6m as part of the Ealing Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project which is a joint venture with Balfour Beatty Construction.

The Building Services South’ contracts include the complete rebuilding of Dormers Wells High School in Southall and the part construction and refurbishment of The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic High School in Greenford.

Dormers Wells High School is a maths and computing specialist college and the new state-of-the-art school (pictured) will include a hearing impaired unit, new business and ICT suite, school allotments and the sports facilities will include two football pitches, a cricket pitch and running track.  There will be a complete new build structure with an approximate gross floor area of 11,475m2. The three-storey structure will have an insulated membrane 'green' roof.

The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic High School is a large specialist technology school consisting of nine buildings of different ages.    The BSF project will involve providing new buildings, demolishing some of the old ones and refurbishing and reorganising the remaining buildings. The new school will include a speech, language and communication difficulties unit and a new performance area and outdoor stage will form the heart of the school. There will also be a new main reception and new library in addition to new sixth form accommodation and Special Educational Needs (SEN) facilities.

Work started on both sites in December and Dormers Wells is due for completion in May 2013 with Cardinal Wiseman in December 2014.
