Liverpool Foundation Degree endorsed by key institutions
Foundation Degree in Building Services Engineering Services at Liverpool Community College (LCC) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) reaccredited by CIBSE and newly “endorsed” by Foundation Degree Forward (fdf) on behalf of SummitSkills.
The Foundation Degree (FDSc) at LCC has recently been formally approved by CIBSE for the next five years.
Endorsement is the process whereby a university or college can ask that its FDSc be judged against set standards and if successful is entitled to be “badged” accordingly. It is a new service and the Foundation Degree FDSc at LCC and LJMU is the first in our sector to achieve this endorsed status.
There were several commendations made by the review panel including:
- The enthusiastic engagement of the staff on the programme team.
- The contribution from the students who they felt were an outstanding advert for the college, the programme and their employer.
Lee Walters, BBES learning and development manager said of the recent news: “We are delighted to hear of the approval by CIBSE and the endorsement from Foundation Degree Forward and SummitSkills.”
