A £2m 24-month framework to deliver high voltage distribution at Urenco’s Capenhurst facility has been secured by Projects division.
Operated by Urenco UK Limited, and located in Capenhurst, near Chester in the north west of England, the site operates three plants producing enriched uranium to enable nuclear power stations around the world to generate electricity.
Projects division will design, supply and install electrical and instrumentation services at this nuclear reprocessing facility.
E&I services comprise multi discipline design and build packages ranging from minor cable diversions to allow space for new buildings to new substations to enhance the stability and security of the Capenhurst Facility power distribution network.
Sustainability aspects considered on this project are traffic movements and equipment deliveries through a rural village community and noise, vibration and light pollution of housing communities adjacent to the site.
Sean McLaughlin will manage BBES’ operations, supported by the Projects division West region team.
This is a further award in the nuclear sector for Projects division, which continues to build on its experience in this area.
