Feeder Protection Replacement

Power Systems, ESI has been awarded a three year Framework Agreement from National Grid for the replacement programme of Feeder Protection Equipment at its 400/275kV substations in England and Wales.

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) are delighted to have secured this Framework Agreement, which is the first contract that we have secured for some time from National Grid, outwith ongoing control system substation database modification and associated post delivery support agreement contracts.

BBES will carry out the project management, design, manufacture, delivery to site, installation, testing and commissioning of new type registered feeder protection equipment to replace existing ageing protection equipment on site. It is National Grid’s intention to allocate call-off orders to framework contractors on a per circuit basis which will include the replacement of protections at two substations.

From an innovation point of view BBES will utilise their National Grid type registered protection solutions which will be integrated into our factory assembled panels and client witness tested prior to delivery to site.

The Framework will be co-ordinated from our Leeds Office with Krishna Padmanabhan as our National Grid Operations Manager.
