This project is one of several that have been successfully delivered at the airport.
The new campus, housing up to 9,000 students and staff from the Schools of Design, Law and Business, opened on budget and on time. Innovative building services contributed to two awards won for building excellence.
The building services team introduced value engineering, best practice solutions that led to improved cost-effectiveness, efficiency and buildability. For example an adjustable electrical trunking system was developed for the campus project.
The campus is designed to be 40 per cent more energy efficient than most other buildings of its type. Rainwater harvesting, rooftop solar collectors and sensor-controlled heating and lighting are among the ‘green’ features.
