With a specialism of “Design and the Built Environment” the academy has expertise and resources for training future architects and engineers. The building is designed to inspire future construction professionals.
A sustainable approach was adopted. Passive ventilation is enabled by an automated louvre system and localised cooling in areas with a high concentration of ICT equipment.
Effective teamwork was crucial to successfully delivering the new academy within the demanding programme. Whilst managing significant variations to the original specification, the team worked closely to make sure the academy was ready within budget and on schedule for its first intake of pupils.
