This new hanger at Prestwick Airport allows two Boeing 737 - 800 aircraft to be maintained concurrently. The aircraft are serviced from a mezzanine structure comprising associated workshops and storage buildings, with office and welfare facilities at ground floor level.
All mechanical and electrical services were provided. Planning high level works in this huge hangar was the key factor in the success of this project. Using prefabrication and modularisation of key services, risks associated with both hot working and working at height were minimised.
The facility was handed to the client, on time, after a six month on-site period.
