Eight years after completing the extension and refurbishment of the terminal building, we are returning to Edinburgh Airport as part of a major development to extend and remodel the first floor lounge area.
As part of the Balfour Beatty Group team we will be working alongside Balfour Beatty Construction, Mansell, Balfour Beatty Management and Raynesway to deliver a £30m extension and remodel of the departure lounge, search and retail facilities at the airport.
Our works comprise the full range of mechanical and electrical services together with specialist airport services and will be carried out in seven phases over a 120-week period. Our site team is currently integrated on-site, carrying out the creation of new gates as part of an advance works package and will commence work on the main extension in early 2009.
The project itself is on an airside site within the live terminal building and we will be required to work closely with both ultimate client BAA and consultant WSP to ensure a smooth delivery with minimal disruption to the operation of the terminal.
