This project consists of the design and build of a new 275/33kV connection substation at Whitelee to connect the new wind farm to Scottish Power transmission network. As part of the contract East Kilbride South 275kV substation will be extended.

This contract comprises establishing three new 275kV transformer bays, one 275kV feeder bay and six 33kV feeder bays at Whitlee substation and one 275kV feeder bay at East Kilbride South substation using outdoor air insulated switchgear. Each bay includes outdoor primary plant, control/protection panels, multicore cables, busbars, connectors, earthing and ancillary equipment. Cruickshanks will manufacture the control and protection panels and structures as it’s Kintore facility.
