This athletics stadium hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games before being converted into a football stadium. With an immovable completion date for the beginning of the Commonwealth Games, the strategy of tackling the East and West stands in parallel ensured the games were an international success.
Boiler plant, electrical plant and toilets are housed within the stadium's eight distinctive towers which also support the undulating roof and contain walkway ramps. Installing major plant items into the towers required close working with other construction team members. In addition to conventional electrical services, the team installed floodlighting, PA, and turnstile monitoring.
